'I Almost Quit | Nerd Fit'

09:05 Aug 22, 2021
'This is an impromptu video. This was not scripted, but I hope my message rings true for you. Thank You! I almost gave up! Yesterday I was in the gym training legs. It was not a great workout, I was having trouble getting a pump. I had some wickedly painful heartburn. I think the new oatmeal I got is messing with me. Anyway, I was in such crippling pain, I was getting ready to pass out. It was not good. So I stop lifting entirely, run out to the car and grab the TUMS that I keep in the console. In that moment, I’m thinking, I should go home. I’m not going to do any better. Not going to get that pump. I should just go home and call it a day. I\'m happy to say I didn\'t. I got back out, ran back inside, out of the cold, and finished my workout. Now, while this may be tiny to someone like you, or un-important. To me and pursuing my dreams, it\'s everything. Discipline in small things begets discipline in large things. Some people use the Mel Robbins tactic: \"The 5 Second Rule\", others follow David Goggins or Jocko Willink. I simply tell myself: \"If I don\'t get it done, no one is going to get it done for me.\" These words of motivation keep me on-point and motivated to keep pursuing my goals. I have wide and many aspirations. There are countless things I want to do, but all of those things start with completing the tasks of today. For me, it\'s about regaining my health, so I\'m healthy enough to pursue the other ventures I have; like producing the film I wrote in 2020, competing in professional body building, launching a social media network, amassing an amazing community of nerds and fans.... All these things will take work and time, but they won\'t happen unless I seize today. My message to you would be: Do not give up on your aspirations. Feed them, nurture them, plan them. Every second you can point towards your dreams are seconds well spent. Only you can accomplish your dreams. No one will do it for you. It could be as simple as going back inside and finishing your workout, getting out of bed an hour early, or sending that email requesting funding. I don\'t know what your dreams are, but I hope you pursue them. Life is too damn short to settle for average.'
